I represent clients in litigation in the areas of contract and real estate disputes, probate, trust and estate matters. I am the managing partner of Best Best & Krieger’s Ontario office and serves as the firm’s general counsel. My goal is to help clients achieve their best long term strategic results. Business and Contract DisputesI represent private businesses and their owners in all manner of disputes. When possible, I help them resolve problems before they reach the court system. I handle all stages of litigation through trial, as well as arbitration and mediation. I represent individuals and companies in contract disputes and disagreements about governance issues, including unfair business acts, shareholder disputes, arguments between partners and corporate dissolutions. Trust, Estate and Probate DisputesI represent trustees and beneficiaries in breach of trust matters; actions to remove trustees; petitions to approve, or objections to, accountings; litigation over the validity of trust amendments or provisions and other disputes involving trusts. I handle will contests, heirship petitions and competency issues involving trusts and wills. I also handle contested petitions for the appointment of a conservator. Real Estate DisputesI handle a variety of matters involving commercial real estate, including disputes over enforcement of purchase and sale agreements and enforcement of secured obligations, including receivership and judicial foreclosure actions. I have litigated commercial lease disputes about exclusivity provisions, triple-net expense allocation and reconciliation disputes, and commercial evictions and unlawful detainer. Complex Litigation for Government Entities I have handled a variety of litigation matters for California public entities, including lawsuits about compliance with the Brown Act and the Public Records Act, section 1983 cases and alleged discrimination under the federal and state fair housing laws.
