My role was to provide technical support and problem solving for issues encountered during migration and migration testing. This ensured the migrations went smoothly with minimal impact to our customers.Developed, implemented and documented a disaster recovery strategy for our email system to ensure in the event of a disaster email would continue to be available. This was tested when we suffered an outage in our primary data centre. The result was a smooth and quick switch over to our alternate data centre with minimal impact to our customers.Transferred Simplot’s email data protection rules from internal Clearswift servers to Cloud solution. This resulted in there being less on premise servers to manage and a saving of $20,000 on annual licence fees. Show less

I performed every aspect of this migration which included scripting the mail migrations and configuring mail routing to ensure correct mail flow over an extended period. Involved setting up directory and free/busy synchronisation and mail routing between the two email systems. Sourcing a solution to convert Notes document links to hyperlinks. Installing and configuring Quest migration tool to convert the mail messages. Due to the distributed nature of Lotus Notes and relatively slow WAN links, I had to come up with a solution so that the customers were not impacted by the amount of email data across the WAN links during migration. The result was the customers were able to use email without impact during the migrations, all mail was successfully migrated from Lotus Notes to Exchange and the WAN links were not overloaded during the migration.Development a Lotus Notes document management system. Application included multiple document types, approval workflows, access control, document versioning and logging. This resulted in Simplot for the first time having the ability to properly manage documents.Developed a Corporate leave application that could be accessed through the Lotus Notes client or a web browser. This replaced the paper based system which resulted in improved efficiencies and reporting.Other Lotus Note applications that I developed include.Customer Contact databaseNew Product Introduction SystemProduct Master ­Product Deletion­Raw Material Specification database­Sales & Operations Planning­Corporate Notice board­Corporate Travel­Marketing Information­Surveys Roll out of Lotus Notes severs across the organisation, including remote sites.
