Proudly started Epic Events and Marketing Pty Ltd in early 2015. This came about after nearly a decade working for sporting associations such as Athletics Tasmania, Football Federation Tasmania, Tasmanian Olympic Council, Athletics Northern Territory and Athletics Australia.Epic focuses on delivery great mass participation sporting events, mainly fun runs and cycling events. We also promote events and people, such as sprint star Jack Hale and the Tasmanian Christmas Carnivals. During Covid times, I partnered with a number of colleagues to try new things. These included starting DTE Endurance Pty Ltd and joining the board of The Australian Mass Participation Sport Events Alliance. From April 2022 - March 2023 I'm excited to lead a team to deliver the 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Bathurst. A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME: I'm married to Anita Welsh, a sports teacher and semi professional photographer. Much of my life I have spent as a middle distance runner, including the 2004 Olympic Trials and the 2005 Kenyan National Titles. In a true reflection of the world these days, my family lives all over the place, from Pottsville to Perth, London to Lilyfield and many other great places.
