Director, Office of Workforce TransformationThe Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation (OWT) has been charged with making Ohio’s workforce system more demand-driven, adaptive to rapid change, innovative in design and delivery, entrepreneurial in spirit and responsive to the current and future needs of businesses and individuals.Several key elements will guide the process to meet the Governor’s charge, to include capturing job forecasting data from Ohio businesses, collaboration among public education partners to deliver skills training, and systemic implementation of the identified training gaps and needs.Goals-Streamline Workforce Systems by utilizing a central guiding entity that will assist in reducing burdensome administration and assist in adequately connecting regional and state economic development strategies.-Improve system performance and access by creating performance measures and a data collection and reporting system to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of workforce programs and policies across state government.-Invest resources to meet business and individual needs by focusing Ohio’s wealth of resources to be responsive to business so that job–seekers and workers will have the 21st century skills they need to be successful.

• Crafted the legislative priorities of the Department of Commerce, including: - The Ohio Commercial & Residential Building Codes; - The Ohio Fire Code; - Proposed labor & worker safety, securities, financial institutions, real estate, liquor, and hotel regulatory initiatives.• Managed the staff of Legislative Liaisons and administrative personnel for the Department.• Represented the Department by testifying before House and Senate committees.• Developed policy positions and subsequent legislation, including presentation strategies to legislators and interested parties.• Worked with interested parties to develop efficient and productive regulatory policies.• Performed public speaking engagements as required.• Developed administrative code rules through the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR).• Prepared and guided budget requests through the Ohio Controlling Board.
