-Maintain engines and all working equipment aboard OSRV DELRIVER, as well as other DBRC equipment including but not limited to: DBRC vehicles, various pieces of shop equipment and tools, oil spill response equipment and small boats in order to keep them in the best possible working order and condition.-Manage and inventory equipment, supplies, and necessary shipboard essentials while creating and maintaining supplier accounts, and purchasing new equipment and supplies within a specified budget.-Design, fabricate, weld and modify equipment of various materials including aluminum and steel.-Use critical thinking and problem solving to develop new equipment, strategies and techniques for equipment deployment and use, as well as improve and modify current equipment, in order to increase efficiency and ease of use. -Perform weekly maintenance and inspections of safety, fire and emergency equipment for efficiency and proper operation.-Handle all IT, AV and electronic upgrades, issues and maintenance. -Help create, manage and update weekly schedules, preventative maintenance, grub budget, crew training, crew change notes, parts and materials budget, purchasing and other administrative duties.-Operate, instruct and maintain all equipment on deck including crane, hydraulic systems, winches, etc. -Train refinery and contractor personnel on vessel operation, equipment use and spill response strategies.-Handle administrative duties for AMPD coverage including phone conversations with management and ship captains, responses to emails, maintain up to date scheduling, help coordinate vessel to vessel transfers and other lightering operation duties. -Develop new methods for old tasks using new technology and methods to simplify and make day-to-day operation more efficient. -Perform detailed chart corrections, update light list and coast pilot navigational aids.-Extensive involvement and knowledge in vessel spill equipment deployment, procedures and rigging and stowage.
