In addition to being a part of a small team that lead the entire ship's company in firefighting and damage control procedures I was also responsible for 200,000 dollars worth of life saving equipment. In 4 years I stood over 3,000 hours of watch, often in twelve hour shifts, roving the ship, documenting conditions and maintaining records of sophisticated machinery.
