Project Management- Successful delivery of Department of Health Policy Research Programme funded research project “Moving care closer to home: an evaluation of the costs and effects of different models of caring for acutely ill children at home”- Secured NHS ethical review and R&D approval of the study.- Day-to-day management and liaison with two case study sites including regular reporting on project progress and negotiation to obtain routinely collected data and documents for analysis. - Arranged annual meetings of the project Advisory Group including representation from clinicians, public health professionals, children’s health charities, parents and young people.Data Collection- Obtained, stored and processed health datasets in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Caldicott principles.- Conducted 60 interviews with parents/carers and children/young people using community children’s nursing teams (CCNT) and healthcare professionals responsible for the delivery, management and commissioning of CCNT. - Designed a questionnaire survey of parents/carers of children/young people discharged from CCNT.Data Analysis- Statistical analysis of Hospital Episode Statistics (HES), Accident and Emergency data (QMAE), and routinely collected activity data. - Examined emergency admission patterns and flows using Microsoft Excel and MapInfo GIS. - Calculation of emergency admission rates using ONS population estimates informing exploratory correlation analyses with Indices of Deprivation and Child Well-being.
