I have over 20 years’ experience of working with a broad range of corporates, financial institutions and global professional services firms, assisting them with their recruitment of in-house legal counsel. I joined MRA Search in 2018, to set up the In-house Division. We now have a team of 6 consultants. We recruit across multiple industry sectors, with clients who range from global household names, to young, growing and ambitious start-ups. I have recruited at all levels up to and including Heads of Legal/General Counsel, and across a very broad spectrum of disciplines. Whilst I have recruited within a range of different industry sectors, I have specialised throughout my career in the banking, financial services and professional services markets. For me, the ingredients for success in recruitment are the same as in any other arm of professional services. Listen carefully and act on what your clients (and candidates) are looking to achieve, always prioritise the long-term over the short-term, and be an honest, decent person to work with. It’s not complicated, but I believe that when I have been successful, it is those factors that have stood me in good stead. That is what I look to bring to MRA’s In-house Division.Before joining MRA Search, I worked for many years for Taylor Root, another leading international legal recruitment firm. I was a partner leading Taylor Root’s In-house Banking and Financial Services Team, both managing the team and recruiting for a range of clients that included a number of the top tier international corporate and investment banks.Prior to moving into legal recruitment, I trained and qualified as a solicitor with Travers Smith having studied law at Bristol University.
