The Limpet heating system consists of a range of intelligent, microprocessor controlled, waterproof, compact heating modules that can be fitted on a wide range of equipment to provide process heat or heat maintenance for industrial processes or frost protection. It is ideal for fitting to pumps, valves, meters, pipes, pipe flanges and other equipment that is difficult or expensive to heat using traditional means, such as trace heating, hot air, induction electrical heaters or hot water systems.Because the design is unique, we have obtained a patent.

After a few months as a management trainee based at Ruston Diesels in Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire, I moved to Stafford and joined Dorman Diesels' sales team. I rose through the organisation and spent my last year as Sales Director before being promoted to Deputy Managing Director of GEC Meters in Stone, Staffordshire.

After being commissioned from Sandhurst, I served with the Royal Engineers. My final role was as a Staff Officer (Major) at the MOD in London. Prior to that I had seen service in the UK, Northern Ireland, Germany, Australia and with the Commonwealth Monitoring Force in Zimbawe Rhodesia in 1980. It was a wonderful experience throughout.

Whilst serving as an officer with the Royal Engineers, I was fortunate to be able to obtain a place at Cambridge University where I took the Mechanical Sciences Tripos (Engineering) degree. In my spare time my passion was rowing. In addition to rowing with the Jesus College First 8+, I had the honour to stoke the Cambridge University varsity crew in the 1976 Oxford/Cambridge Boat Race. The crew achieved a record time, except that which was broken by Oxford just ahead of us!
