• Transferred into Solta R&D group to coordinate Mechanical Design efforts in producing a revolutionary Handpiece design incorporating my concepts for active pain reduction technology. Achievements
• Within 3 months of joining group had defined manufactureable design and placed 6 prototype units in clinical testing and within 8 months transferred a fully released design to manufacturing.
• Guided R&D engineers and technicians through the prototype process while evaluating competing designs.
• Interfaced with Manufacturing engineering, technicians and assemblers to ensure the correct design transfer through work instructions, travelers, production audits, etc.
• Maintained the Design Input Specification, defined BOM structure, subassembly content and work order to enhance DFM and outsource manufacturing.
• Received US Patent for Handpiece Vibratory design.

• Joined Thermage to support ramp-up efforts for newly released Disposable/Device line in 2003. Directly responsible for Manufacturing Engineering, Vendor selection, Headcount and Facility planning to support targeted.
• Directed the production release of the NXT Radio Frequency Device to Manufacturing at Thermage in 2007. Participated in supplier selection and was fully responsible for managing the engineering transfer of the.
• Reduced standard time on disposable Treatment Tips by 75%, while achieving a >98% yield.
• Ramped Production from less than 1,000 units per month to 18,000. Doubling capacity in just one month. “Grew” Manufacturing department from 5 total with 4 directs to 19 total with 5 directs (efficiency also increased.
• Directed Manufacturing move into and validation of new facility with 60,000-unit/month capacity.
• Participated in concurrent engineering development with R&D, initiated efficiency-based Production bonuses, achieved time reduction in WIP by 40% and EC compliant packaging.

Directed product transfer of R.F. pH receiver from development at an outside engineering firm, to in-house production.
