Body Structures Mgr -Launch Procedures/Welding-Joining /Product Development/Reprocess/Raw Materials• Body Structures Manager – 1.) Manage BIW Launch activities: weld buy-off and certification with RSW /Mig /Brase /Laser welding, adhesive dispense, product validation, for MFG, MFG Engrg, Safety, NVH, and Durability with 3 US engineers. 2.) Lead Welding /Joining responsibilities with weld /adhesive /sealing files within NX for all current vehicles and future models for each milestone feeding back to the Product team for accurate joint design and our customer ME Vehicle Process Engineering team with 7 engineers in Canada, India, Mexico, and US. 3.) Ensure body joints are designed efficiently with continuity, grade requirements and joint section analysis collaborating with Materials Engrg, ME Welding /Joining Center of Competency, and CAE teams with 3 US engineers. This group also supports all NAFTA assembly plants with evaluations and defining reprocess procedures as issues arise. 4.) Supervise design and release engineer to maintain BIW Bill of Materials for assembly plant consumables such as weld wire and reprocess fasteners. This 1 US engineer also supports all prototype build phases for body structure integrity and build issues. Even though we are half as strong as we were from just a few years ago, we meet our deliverables, deadlines, and objectives.• The purpose of my hiring was to solve several issues within the department; high turnover, quality of work product, payroll costs, and several areas that were not supported at all. Defining a common goal of gathering information on what we do and how we do it seemed to pull the team together. Standard Operating Procedures were created along with workflow processes. Creating the communication channels between functional groups was more difficult with all the stakeholders. However, once we achieved buy-in, the success was evident in all departments, Body, Chassis, Interior, ME, and MFG.

Body Structures -Design & Release Engineer• Body Structures-Underbody 2016/7 CD4.3 programs, Lincoln and Ford Brands, China and North America markets, Responsible systems: Wheelhouse Assy, Lower Back Assy and Body Mounted Heat /NVH /Aero Shields. Lead the delivery of Functional /Quality /Cost /Weight /Package requirements for Underbody systems and components within program milestones by directing various design activities such as Body CAD (5 designers), simulation studies of stamping, durability, structure, and frequency response. Special assignments with Lincoln Brand on defining luxury brand body attributes with executing complete feasibility.

Chassis Engineering:Misc Chassis components include skid plates and crossmembers, rock rails, recovery winch, jacks and accessories, spare tire winch, tow hooks, trailer tow.Frame Durability on 4500 and 5500 series heavy trucks including Chassis Cab, Flat Bed, and Roll Back wrecker, N-code fatigue analysis program and road load compatability.

Chassis Engineering:Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Chrysler AspenBrakes; Brake pedals-adjustable-stationary, Actuatiuon systems, ABS systems including Hydraulic Control Unit and Integrated Control Unit, Brake line assemblies and Fuel/Brake bundles including blocks, fasteners and clips.

Resident Engineer for the brand new 2007 Jeep Wrangler 2dr and 4dr. Chair for build issues meeting, responsible for discovery, tracking, and validating issues. Single resident engineer for all disiplines, Body, Chassis, Interior, Electrical, and Powertrain. Responsible for Manufacturing Quality Governmental & Regulatory compliance, SMART manufacturing principals and Lean Manufacturing processes.

BIW Exterior Systems:Jeep Wrangler, Fender flare assemblies and structures, Running board and side step for 2 and 4 door, Rubicon sill guards fully functional, Badging and ornamentation with urethane and decals, Mudd flaps, Bumpers and bumper end caps

BIW Engineering:Jeep Wrangler: Front End Sheet Metal (splash aprons, radiator guard assembly and related hardware), Body to Chassis mounting system, Body mounted heat shields, Splash shields, Battery mounting hardware, Body identification with manufacturing and body code plates, Labels; instruction/safety/regulatory/certification.
