Richard Heaps Email and Phone Number
I have devoted my career in facility operations and capital projects to redesigning and revitalizing facilities, including prominent higher educational institutions and museums. I have held positions both at Columbia University and New York University, as well as the Brooklyn History Center and the Newark Museum of Art. I am passionate about partnering with design consultants and specialists in education and research to create the physical infrastructure that enables institutions to operate at the highest level.I have been fortunate to have worked on a broad range of facilities and capital projects, including, classrooms, labs, recording studios, screening rooms, performance spaces, and theaters. I have also worked on interior and exterior historic preservation projects, infrastructure and mechanical upgrades, conservation-controlled library and museum storerooms, and galleries.I was educated in art and design, and strive for creative thinking and design excellence. I enjoy the collaborative nature of working with architects, design and engineering professionals, and consultants, to shape environments that impact learning in the classrooms.I am customer-focused and committed to providing exceptional facility and operational support. Hands-on when I need to be, and take satisfaction to resolve problems. A large part of my success has been the result of attentiveness, dedication and personal investment, to seek the best possible outcome. I thrive in an environment where I am interacting with a diverse range of people, to build rapport and trust with colleagues, and promote an environment of inclusion and participation.
