They were both performing professional presentations for the same audience, both telling lovingly about the alchemy of forging crude steel into beautiful instruments, the process of concentration, the necessity for silence to reveal all the energy in a room, but also the truth present in the material. They both speak of the connection with the past needed to be better in the present, the now.It is a remarkable fact that during this first sensational encounter, not one "note" had been played.The two men decide to meet together, this time with their instruments taken from the safety of their cases. Moments later they sit, waiting cross-legged facing each other, who dares to make the first move? Artist and director Richard Hilgeman joins the company and the creation of ‘Tales of the Wind’ becomes a reality.The Trumpeter and the SamuraiAt the world premiere in October 2015, the audience was taken on a journey through the wonderful Energy Factory in The Hague. The Trumpeter, the Samurai and the old Energy Factory formed three different characters who both scan and cherish each other as equal partners in a wonderful fusion. After all, steel is malleable, makes sound, touches the core of the space and above all, transports the winds of imagination. The performers were further enriched by the comforting power of ancient rituals.Sunrise, Noon & SunsetThe performances were staged at sunrise, noon and sunset, so each performance was played from a different perspective and with a different experience of energy.It is the first time a play has been created for trumpet, trumpeter, sword and swordsman.
