I was responsible for all the communication equipment in my Cavalry unit while both here in the states and while on a deployment to Iraq. I was responsible to make sure the unit was fully trained on the proper operation and implementation of all electronic equipment as well as how to troubleshoot problems under the worst possible conditions.

Grade layout using Topcon precision GPS equipment. My duties were to place grade stakes with the proper cut or fill indications so the machine operators would know how much material needed to be moved. Among other responsibilities my job was to make sure the foreman and the crews had full awareness at all times. I also used the GPS equipment to AS-Built all the piping that was buried along with all the laterals. This ensured that we didn't spend more time than needed to find buried assets.
