Consultant in Critical Care since 2001 CDDFT which over the years has included - Trust Clinical Lead for Sustainability, Deputy Medical Director for Clinical Standards and Governance CDDFT, Associate Clinical Lecturer University of Newcastle Dental School, College Tutor for the Royal College of Anaesthetists, Lead Clinician for Anaesthesia CDDFT, Chair of Medical Advisory Committee, DMH.Since 2017, I have been focussing on sustainability in terms of environment, education and global equality. First, do no harm originally applied to the doctor-patient relationship well before the development of global supply chains, pharmaceuticals and plastics but today, but must also be adopted through ESG by all organisations especially those linked to healthcare systems. We cannot provide care on one hand whilst delivering harm to the planet with the other when there are alternatives.I have therefore, through all my endeavours worked to improve the health of not just people but planet too and address inequality in access to education for global healthcare professionals through CPDmatch.
