I have a year of experience building new partnerships between the library and campus partners. Connecting people to library services and experts is my newly-found passion, and I enable people to realize that libraries are a place of learning. I entered librarianship coming from the STEM field. After completing my B.Sc, my experiences in industry and academia have inspired me to pursue graduate studies in Library and Information Science. Information is produced at high rates but is not being utilised efficiently. In particular, I want to connect the STEM field to resources that will enable fascinating discoveries and outcomes. In 2021, I received my Master's degree at the University of Southern California in Library and Information Science. From the many courses, information interviews, and professors, I am in managing information assets and helping translate knowledge in industry and academia to create something novel that benefits our society.

Teaching AssistantSimon Fraser University Jan 2021 - Aug 2021Burnaby, British Columbia, CanadaI was a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Chemistry for a 1st-year general chemistry course (Chem 122). These opportunities were remote; I taught multiple tutorial sections and held office hours through the Zoom and Blackboard Collaborate platforms. Being a TA was an engaging role as I helped students build a strong foundation in chemistry knowledge while meeting learning outcomes. I troubleshoot problems in students' experiments and guide my student's understanding of chemistry concepts they may need help understanding. This is a rewarding learning experience as I engage with my students and gain teaching experience. Knowing that my students come from different backgrounds and have different experiences, I also created a safe learning environment and earned the trust of my students by referring my students to institutional resources inside and outside the classroom. -
Student Librarian, Oral History CenterBancroft Library May 2021 - Jul 2021Berkeley, California, United StatesThis was an internship-for-credit where I supported metadata for oral history in two projects: Rosie the Riveter World War II American Home Front and the AIDS Epidemic in San Francisco. I supported in having these resources become searchable and discoverable on the library catalogue through Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS). I came up with a quantitative method of deriving descriptive keywords using intermediate features of a spreadsheet software. -

Particles Chemistry Co-Op Student | Analytical TeamStemcell Technologies Sep 2017 - Apr 2018Vancouver, Canada AreaI worked at Stemcell Technologies in the Particles Chemistry Department. In-house particles are used for magnetic separation of cells in blood. This experience furthered my understanding of particle size distribution (PSD). I was involved in in the characterisation of in-house particles. This included obtaining PSD's using various equipment, Total Organic Carbon quantification for coating of particles, zeta potential for surface charge, and various quantitative chemical assays. I also had the opportunity to develop an assay for protein quantification in the particles. This was one of the few in-house assays was able to correlate if particles were functional as confirmed by the Functional Testing Team. -
