Since having done the course I have incorporated design patterns into my software projects, which has greatly enhanced my productivity. I now reuse a lot more code, and my projects are more easily expandable when (inevitably!) the users change the spec. What I particularly liked about Richard is that he wasn't a full time trainer as does programming consultancy work too. Staying "in the game" meant he was up to date with the most modern technologies and methodologies, which is just what you want as a student in a fast moving industry like ours. Richard was also highly approachable and a great communicator, so we definitely got the best from the week's course. Although I have only worked with Richard for the four days of this course I would have no hesitation in reccomending him for training and consultancy roles.
