Profile bio

About Richard Hughes, Ed.D.

As a former School Superintendent for greater than ten years and an educator for over two decades, I've been fortunate to learn with so many top notch people in education, finance, technology and construction. One lesson that comes through no matter the background is that we must do all in our power to breakdown barriers by turning them into opportunities. The pandemic has shown us we must continue to think differently, react quickly and plan for the future. As an educator and parent, I believe ALL students must have equal access to opportunities. To do so requires us to change how we communicate and work with others. Educators should act as facilitators of growth so students can use their voice and choice to become independent thinkers, possessing the skills needed to follow their dreams and to define their own success. To meet this goal, we have to provide students with opportunities to learn meaningful skills and to explore their individual interests and abilities. We hold the key to unlocking the future by tearing down barriers, personal and artificially created, so all our children can learn and grow regardless of gender, race, or zip code.

Listed skills include Staff Development, Educational Leadership, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, and 40 others.
