I have been a non-executive director of Perrys Motor Group since 2002, becoming Chairman in 2018.I have many years' experience (starting with my non-executive directorship of FFP Packaging Solutions Limited between 1994 and 2017) of acting as a director or company secretary of substantial family or owner-managed private companies. My practice as a corporate lawyer (including 27 years as a partner and 30 years in total at Hewitsons LLP, up to July 2018) covered a wide range of work, often with an international element and with a particular emphasis on the sale and purchase of private companies and businesses. I also established Hewitsons' US law firm links and network of associated firms. In 2001 I co-founded and subsequently became Managing Director of Spencer Partners Corporate Finance Limited, through to 2016. This company specialised in advising companies and their shareholders on the sale and purchase of private companies and businesses, including all necessary research, introductions and negotiations to put together and structure a transaction.Specialties: non-executive directorships of owner-managed or family companies.
