This is one of the biggest R+D projects Alere has carried out with a team of over 100 people at peak and a multi-million dollar R+D spend. Delivering this product required collaboration between multiple Alere sites and external development partners based around the world.This product is the world’s first nucleic acid-based diagnostic test to achieve CLIA Waiver: an outstanding achievement by the Alere team. Next generation isothermal diagnostic platformSep 2014: Alere awarded $12.9M contract with US Government (BARDA) to develop next generation isothermal diagnostic platform. I led the Alere team through the process to win this contract and I am now running the programme to deliver this new product. We defined Alere’s corporate R+D Framework and Governance model and created our corporate Product Realization Standard in alignment with ISO13485 and 21CFR820. Work will continue during 2015 to configure the software, validate and roll out globally.
