• As a sales and marketing specialist with expertise in the logistics and distribution industry I have held senior positions at main board level with several multinational companies. Also, I have experience of selling franchises for InXpress and made the decision in 2007 to start my own InXpress franchise business. Early in my career I held various sales and marketing positions in the manufacturing (FMCG) industry which was followed by a career move to the hotel and catering industry. Since 1986, when I joined DHL (UK) as the Sales and Marketing Director, I have been advising companies on tailor-made distribution, courier, freight and logistics solutions to meet all types of requirements for multinationals and SMEs. • I have gained considerable international distribution experience, especially in Europe and the USA, building long term relationships and alliances with suppliers, customers and colleagues in many of the countries I have visited. Recently I went to China and India and gained insights into their social, political and economic environments with a view to developing business in Asia.• When I was studying for my MBA I researched franchising as the topic for my dissertation. Subsequently, I co-authored an academic paper based on my research, entitled “Managing the Franchisor-Franchisee Relationship: A Relationship Marketing Perspective”. The article was published in the Journal of Marketing Channels in the January-March 2010 edition.
