I received the "Excellence in Teaching" award from the Front Range Community College chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success.I currently teach public speaking, with an emphasis on teaching students how to develop clear and concise messages for academic, personal, and professional audiences.

I volunteer for the Emergency Management Unit at the City and County of Broomfield. I'm currently developing scenario-based training for the Emergency Operations Center.

From concept to distribution, I produce videos for a variety of clients and audiences.

I taught communication and broadcasting courses for the Communication Arts and Sciences Department at MSU Denver. Additionally, I was the faculty advisor for MSU Denver's student-run Met TV unit, operating under the auspices of the university's student media program.As the Met TV faculty advisor, I oversaw the growth of student television productions from two weekly television newscasts to ten news and entertainment programs.I've been fortunate to be able to teach a variety of courses at MSU Denver, including:Public Speaking, Business and Professional Speaking, Television Production, Audio Production, Writing for Broadcast News, Writing for Electronic Media, Producing Multi-Platform Content, On-Air Broadcasting, Performance for Broadcast, Advanced Television Performance, and Electronic Media and Society.

I had a triple role as an on-camera meteorologist, reporter and web producer. As an on-camera meteorologist, I was responsible for analyzing weather data and producing weather graphics. I also produced weather-related stories as a reporter. In addition to my on-camera work, I worked as a web producer. I was responsible for creating original content and editing previously produced work. Additionally, I was tasked monitoring social media (typically police, fire, and media competitors) and with creating social media posts designed to engage viewers and increase web visitation and broadcast viewership.

During my 10 years at KMGH-TV, I had the opportunity fill multiple roles, including on-camera meteorologist (Emmy award winner), reporter, news anchor, and multi-media journalist. Weather, climate, science, and technology were my primary reporter's "beat," though I did cover general news assignments as necessary.I supervised the weather internship program and was responsible for recruiting, managing, and evaluating college interns. At its peak, the program grew to 12 weather interns per semester. I successfully coordinated multiple outreach events for KMGH-TV's 24/7 Weather Center, such as Super Science Saturday and Wild Earth Day (in conjunction with the National Center for Atmospheric Research). I produced live remote television broadcasts of these events, increasing public attendance.I researched and developed the station's severe weather coverage policy and communication plan in an effort to comply with FCC regulations and to better serve viewers.I ghost-authored several weather and climate-related articles published in the book, "Colorado Weather Almanac," by Mike Nelson. As a multi-media journalist, I was responsible for producing, shooting, writing, and video editing news packages on deadline.

I created and taught a course in on-camera weathercasting. Topics included on-camera performance, weather analysis and forecasting, severe weather coverage, and weather graphics production.

I taught courses in public speaking and broadcast meteorology. I designed and produced original weather graphics published in the children's book, "And Now for the Weather," by William O'Byrne.

I was selected by the Clinton-Gore administration to attend an invitation-only White House briefing on global warming for broadcast meteorologists.As the chief meteorologist, I was responsible for supervising the weather staff. I researched and developed the station's severe weather coverage policy and communication plan in an effort to comply with FCC regulations and to better serve viewers.
