As a plant operator I was responsible for loading and unloading all bulk trucks and trailers with inbound and outbound shipments using forklifts. As well as mixing chemical batches according to product manufacturing procedures and equipment SOP's including hazardous materials. I was required to stage raw materials and transfer chemicals into vessels, trucks, totes, drums, tankers, etc. Occasionally I would use a yard mule, which is an automatic diesel truck with air brakes to move around storage ISO's and tankers from loading areas to our storage area on site. A bobcat was also a necessity for disposing trash into dumpsters and for cleaning up any spills that may have occurred during transfer of chemicals. All work was done outside and with a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsible for overseeing 4 departments within a 12 hour shift. All while being in charge of up to 9 operators and their duties, 10 molding machines, 2 debinding chambers, 3 sintering furnaces, and 1 heat treatment machine. Molding - metal injection molding of parts, debinding - removal of binding materials from parts made in molding through chemical baths, sintering - parts are baked in a furnace to harden density, and heat treatment - further hardening, tempering, and carbonizing of parts.

Injection Molding was my department. I was a Machine Operator for well over 6 months, my duties involved inspecting plastic parts for defects, installing clips or felt on the part and safely placing them inside the proper storage tote. My work ethic was taken notice and I was promoted to the floater position, where I was expected to learn how to run every machine in the warehouse as well as being responsible for relieving operators for their breaks and lunches. Soon after I was then given the mold setter position, where I acquired majority of my technical skills. Adjusting & teaching robots to take parts out properly from the mold and place it on the conveyor for the operator to inspect, Having to make process changes to the program to fix defects on the parts. Hooking up high pressured water hoses to the mold, connecting high amped electrical cables called DME units from the mold to the machine. Basic knowledge of the different palletized materials used in making plastics, I was responsible for loading the correct material for the corresponding parts being made at the time, as well as knowing the correct temperature to set the TCU so the plastic would melt properly. These are some of the duties asked of me. We are also crane certified with a hand held wireless crane, which we use to lift up the Molds that weight up to 1450 tons and place them inside the machine. Once inside the machine we use basic tools like wrenches and ratchets to clamp down the mold in place.
