Over 13 years spent building DELOITTE's Enterprise Risk Management/Cyber practice. 6 years as VP Strategic Initiatives building DIFENDA cybersecurity leading Sales/Major Proposal Development, Practice Development, Strategic Alliances, Risk Management Systems, Talent (CHRO) & Markets (CMO). GOVERNANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT - VP/CISO at Aviva Insurance, Richard led a refresh of business protection; developed SOx controls; BCP implementation; information security compliance; DR acquisition; an overall IT Outsourcing initiative, and a new governance framework for investigations. HIGH PERFORMANCE DESIGN & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT SYSTEMS - using performance improvement / change management frameworks, including TQM, TPS, Lean, JiT, Kaizen, Socio-Tech Redesign, and ISO Management/CI Systems (ISO 9000/14000/27000/20700), he has brought companies, like Magna (Plydex), Honeywell, Bell and Cimco successfully through major competitive performance challenges.EXECUTION CAPABILITY & PREDICTABILITY- led process reviews and management system assessments for compliance to international, continuous improvement, process and control capability standards for the likes of BMO and OPG, as founding leader of QUASAR (the Quality Systems Assessment Registrar), one of Canada’s first Federally accredited ISO management system certification bodies.
