    I support the finance systems of Blackstone. This includes JDEdwards, Insight Software, Concur Expense and (to a lesser extent) Wall Street Systems. Most users are in UK and Ireland, but I am also called upon to cover for users in Asia (Japan, HK, Singapore, India) and users in New York. I also implement small incremental projects. Initially there were a lot of issues to do with currency revaluation, restatement, intercompany and allocations. But many of these have been settled. Several companies were originally set up with the wrong base currencies, so we had to change them. There were some very large cleanup projects I was involved in, to deal with the results of bad discipline.Most of the difficult questions nowadays concern reporting, and I am often called upon to extract information from JDE using Insight, or Concur using the Concur Cognos Query Studio. I have a good understanding of how data is held in both systems.This is the first time I have held a support role. It is also the first time I have had to support a purely Finance environment.Officially my title at Blackstone is 'Assistant Vice President' (!)I started at Blackstone in Feb 2009 as a contractor, under my own company Richard L Berry Associates Ltd. I took a full-time position in April 2010.
