For personal reasons after a year I relinquished my EMEA responsibilities, focusing full-time on the UK portion of the role.Key successes during my tenure included:- Successfully leading the pitch for Tesco's programmatic and audience business. I played a key role in the pitch itself and oversaw the successful conclusion of the resulting POC period.- Leading the deployment of the [m]PLATFORM technology for PSA Automotive, one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers.- Redesigning the approach to [m]PLATFORM training across EMEA, developing and delivering a modular three day technical and strategic training programme. Hundreds of agency team members were trained using this programme with highly positive feedback.- Restructuring the GroupM UK Data and Technology division to bring together two previously separate teams and successfully instilling a culture of innovation and collaboration in the group, as well as a renewed commercial focus which resulted in revenue increases of over 100% from our data products. I was responsible for the core vision for the data platform, and led the requirements gathering, ideation and solution architecture, working with the technical architect to define a state-of-the-art platform using big data technologies including Hadoop, CouchDB and Storm. In this role, I built the Data and Technology services organization from scratch - defining the vision and business goals, designing an organizational structure and hiring a team of 11. In the process, I transformed MEC’s view of technology from a back-office function to a core client-facing part of the business. My responsibilities were split evenly between managing the operational side of the business, consulting with (and evangelizing to) clients directly and acting as the senior technology leader within MEC UK. In January 2011, I was elected to join MEC UK’s Operational Board, and in late 2011 my team won Gold at the MediaWeek awards in the Data Innovation category for creating two groundbreaking analytics solutions - the first (Cube) designed to provide on-demand access to data for client reporting, reducing the time taken to produce reports from hours to minutes, and the second (Prism) a journey-path analytics and attribution modelling solution using advanced visualisation to provide valuable insight for campaign optimisation. In late 2011, I transitioned out of the UK team and into MEC’s global management team, with responsibility for guiding the Data and Technology services strategy across key markets globally. This move resulted in a shift in my responsibilities; away from operational management and towards strategy development and consulting with local market senior management and key global clients. In the final two years of my tenure I was nominated to join Momentum, MEC's EMEA-wide leadership training and development programme. Show less
