• Most recently worked on a project to set up, operate, maintain, and manage field laboratories at remote overseas locations. These sites have long logistical tails and demanding analysis and reporting requirements. Served as lead analyst for two four-month deployments and as an analyst for two four-month deployments• Operated and maintained a variety of laboratory instrumentation including GCMSs, LCMSs, ICMSs, HRMSs, FTIR and Raman IR detectors, IMSs, XRDs, XRFs, and radiation detectors.• Evaluated field portable instrumentation for HAZMAT first responders. I worked on a contract for the Air National Guard Civil Support Service to develop calibration curves for detecting and quantifying chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals using portable mass spectrometers, FTIRs, Raman IRs, XRFs, and IMSs.• Collected performance data for various commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) field portable chemical detection systems.• Provided client support by assisting with short-course training sessions on the use and maintenance of the COTS instrumentation as well as technical support and data interpretation for on-site teams.• In September 2012 a co-worker and I were issued US patend number 8,196,479 for an air sampling device utilizing multiple sorbent tubes. In 2015 I was presented a directors award for support of overseas laboratory operations.
