I love bridging the gap between business and technology.I started my career as a project management intern by analyzing numbers and telling stories with charts and graphs to my team, but I knew the business world wasn't for me. I then transitioned to programming. I loved being given problems and the tools and creativity to solve them, but I knew that being behind 2 monitors with 43 StackOverflow tabs open everyday wasn't for me either. But, through my experiences, I realized my passion was the combination of business and programming: working with others to understand business problems and creating solutions for them.My goal as a software engineer is to understand technology to do 3 things: articulate the usage and value of the tech used to non-technical stakeholders, quickly fill in skillset gaps for any technology focused team, and to ultimately build value for businesses and customers. My passion has led me through 4 years of internships and work, another year at the best university for my master's, over a year as CTO for my food-tech venture, Anythng, and now improving mental healthcare access at Cerebral Care.I've worked with everything: GraphQL APIs (NestJS, Hasura), mobile & web apps (Flutter, React/React Native), networking (iftables, Wireshark), CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, docker), testing (Jest, flutter_test), databases (Postgres & MySQL), cloud providers (GCP, AWS), code collaboration (git, commitizen), even with TensorFlow GAN models to turn chicken wings into blueberry muffins. Although I've worked with a large number of technologies, I believe in a lean mindset, using only the right tools for the job to enable smaller, low-cost projects to be built with the effectiveness of larger projects. This applies to everything from customer research to product deployment. When I'm not waiting for the train to pass when I accidentally type "sl" in the terminal or representing customer personas with my world-famous, stick figure drawings, I'm usually searching for the meaning of life through self-help, business, and technology books, praying to every religion on the planet when I'm 20 feet off the ground at a rock climbing gym, crying with laughter playing games with my friends, setting off the fire alarm in the kitchen with my chef's hat on while pretending to speak French, opening a new fiction novel (Artemis by Andy Weir is my new favorite), or trying new wines with my girlfriend while thinking this wine we just had tasted exactly like the one we had last week. And the wine before that. And the wine before that. And the wine before...
