I worked for over 22+ years in the game industry. In that period of time, I have been involved in the development of 15 published commercial products for XBOX, PC, PSX, iOS, Android, and 3DO. I have worked in a leadership position on most of those products either as lead programmer or a senior engineer. My tasks included making key engineering decisions, scheduling, documentation, hiring, and of course taking on key programming tasks.In 2015 I joined IBM to work in the innovation lab here in Austin, TX. Since joining I've been instrumental in leading several projects to completion and release. My most recent project "Intu" was a cognitive embodiment middle-ware that allowed "Watson" services to be embedded into a Robot or space. I was the lead engineer on this project and implemented many of the key systems including planning, models, sensors, and skills.I work exceptionally well with other team members, adapt and learn quickly, accomplish my tasks on time, and make smart engineering decisions. Additionally, I’m well rounded with experience and expertise in a wide range of areas including multi-threading, networking, graphics, and general game programming. My programming language of choice is C++; my code is clean, well-documented, and well designed. I practice and use standard engineering methodologies, including design patterns and code-review processes.Key Skills:* Expert level programming skills using design patterns and object orientated design in C++ and C#.* Very strong understanding of high performance computing, 3D graphics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, networking, multi-threading, non-blocking event processing, graph and SQL databases, assembly language and GPU programming.* Leadership and mentor for other engineers.* Project management using agile techniques, tracking team member’s workloads and moving forward to completion.* Expert user of GIT, SVN, Microsoft Visual Studio, and JIRA.
