I am an independent consultant specialising in UK and EU refugee and migration policy, with expertise in evaluation, training, policy analysis and advocacy. My skills as a writer, interviewer and facilitator draw on an earlier career in broadcast journalism. Major recent projects include evaluations of UNHCR’s border management and refugee protection strategy (BMPR) in Central Europe, Common Purpose’s leadership capacity building programme in Libya and the second phase of the European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM). I have acted as expert adviser to Matrix for their studies for the European Parliament on asylum burden sharing in the EU and for the European Commission on the practical application of the Returns Directive. I have conducted research on monitoring of forced returns for Amnesty International and Matrix and support a policy dialogue between the Still Human Still Here campaign and the UK Home Office aimed at ending destitution among refused asylum seekers.
