I started Abyss in 2012 as a specialist consultancy advising architecture, engineering, construction and property firms on exporting their skills and growing their businesses globally. I leverage my global network and experience, as well as my expertise in strategic planning and international business development, to help my clients internationalise their businesses. My board experience ranges from serving on the management boards of £10m turnover private companies to £120m turnover divisions of publicly listed organisations, as well as serving on chapter boards and chairing committees of influential professional associations in the US and the UK. I was also part of a startup technology company which provided a SaaS CRM and workflow automation solution to design and construction businesses, where I was deeply involved in the product design and specification, adding business sector intelligence to the product development, as well as heading up sales and marketing for the company, in addition to pitching the business to venture capitalists alongside the founder, ultimately helping to secure a Series A funding round of about US$2m.
