Rio Tinto is a leading global mining company with mining and exploration interests that cover most commodities on all continents.• Joined Rio Tinto’s Exploration Group, based in London, as Business Analyst to the Head of Exploration• Covered the technical, commercial and geopolitical evaluation of opportunities across the entire Rio Tinto portfolio. • This included base and precious metals, ferrous metals, energy minerals and others. • Promoted to operations manager in the Coal and Uranium business unit based in Wyoming, USA, responsible for planning and executing an exploration program across several newly acquired mines. • Moved to be a Manager in Mine Planning and Technology, at Hamersley Iron based in Western Australia, focusing on the development of new technologies to improve mine productivity and to assist in the long range planning of resource development in the group.• Became Commercial Manager leading the mine planning and operations aspects of an SAP implementation, and subsequently managed the business evaluation team.
