UBM had successfully transitioned from a media holding company to the largest pure-play B2B events company globally (FTSE listed £1.1bn revenue). The challenge was to integrate the acquisitions into a new operating model, to leverage leading brands (eg Black Hat) globally & deliver best in class visitor experiences. The transformation challenge was as broad (30 operating companies globally) as it was deep (Sales, Finance, Technology, HR). With the support of my Executive Committee members we delivered a radical new global operating model with supporting platforms & processes; completely transformed the IT function and delivered award winning industry "firsts" ( eg tablet based re-book applications, 3D touchscreen TV integrated floor planning & sales). Efficiency savings of 22% in cost per user for IT were delivered against a combined OpEx/CapEx budget of £70m
Music was the first industry to be majorly disrupted by digital. After a tentative start (eg Digital Rights Management, Copy Protected CDs) in the early 2000's the industry put the consumer at the heart of the vision, embraced technology / digitisation and innovated at light speed. EMI Music (PE owned £1bn revenue) was the leader of this movement - and continuous transformation was the order of the day.As global transformation lead my role was to pioneer new business solutions, to support the transition to a global digital music company. + Delivered global solutions spanning Insight & Analytics, Rights Management, Digital Watermarking, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Marketing Automation and Digital Supply Chain applications + The Sales analytics platform was the first global system and enabled Repertoire Owners to have up to date sales data at their fingertips. The suite won industry awards and was significantly extended into a broad consumer and customer insight & analytics capability
A global operations role leading the digital supply chain - which translates music, video, artwork & data into ints digital form and distributes to all retail and promotional partners worldwide.
