I was also responsible for securing the Institute’s funding base to drive impact; from 2011–2015 average annual fundraising income was AUD$2.95 million.Established with private Philanthropic funding in late 2005, the Institute was only intended to be in existence for 5 years. However, the political climate in Australia at the time led to a need to secure additional funding to continue its' highly targeted and essential advocacy work for a further 5 years.The Climate Institute sadly announced it's closure in March 2017 after an extended 12–year life.
