With responsibility for managing and developing a team of staff at Milton Keynes Kaplan, this role involves the running of the financial and operational aspects of a financial training business. On a monthly basis, revenue variances (Across the ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA and AAT revenue streams) and cost variances are justified to the Board. On a quarterly basis, budget packs are created in order to establish the current revenue/cost/OI position versus original budget. Not only does this require the ability to know the detail of the numbers, but it also requires the skill to decide the longer term strategy of the business from a much higher level.Other key areas to this role involve timetabling staff over four products, being responsible for Business Development and Account Management, monitoring financials and oversaw a large refurb.As well as running the Milton Keynes centre, taught Financial Reporting and Tax to the top level of all accountancy qualifications. Detailed understanding of IFRS and Tax Legislation.

This involved discussions with the finance and non-finance directors (to fully understand the business).
