Having developed properties in association with my corporate career, this is now my full-time focus and I am looking to expand my residential portfolio, commercial investments via a SSAS, new build developments and general property investments. I have also written a book on the subject of using a SSAS pension for investment called 'SSAS Pension Legacy' available on Amazon. Apart from my property work, I am a very experienced leader that is quite unique in having considerable engineering and commercial know-how in both large and small companies, being certified to Lean Six Sigma Black Belt level. This was through great client management to ensure business development growth in an organic manner. Profits were increased from 8% to 14% in the first 2 years through a ‘value management’ implementation process and competitor benchmarking. A reduction in defective product returns by 70% through improved root cause kaizen analysis and reporting was achieved.The number of customers was increased by 35% as non-profitable customers were eliminated and we provided social proof of our ability through accreditation's and awards for service. An entirely new Marketing focus was brought in to the business and this was quickly embraced by everyone. A more formal and efficient tendering system was developed and implemented, and this resulted in a high success rate of over 75%. This process aided the business in winning the largest single WEEE decommissioning contract in the UK in 2010 beating FTSE 100 businesses with an “outstanding bid”. Created a comprehensive database of method statements and case studies to support the Sales team to give social proof to tender submissions. Implemented 4 ISO's - 9001, 14001, 18001 and 27001Being able to exploit an engineering background during the time with EOL, collaborated with an external manufacturer of shredding machines. Hard drive shredding machines at this time ran on 3-phase electricity but we wanted one that could be wheeled into an office and plugged into the wall socket. Over a 6 month development program we set design guidelines for the machine and how it should operate and perform. Following several prototype iterations a machine was successfully produced that could run on a domestic 240v supply and shred drives at the rate of 5-8/minute and all for less than £15,000. The ROI was quickly recouped by providing this service to clients and is an example of innovation in new sectors. -
