Provided direct leadership over the design and development of a brand new Cloud-based Retail ERP system and we moved the Company to a predictable recurring revenue model operating in well-defined niches.

I was an early investor and advisor to Brink POS, focused on growing the business beyond their pilot customer. I was instrumental in helping them land their 1st Franchise customer. Brink was later acquired by Par Technology (NYSE: PAR).

Bark was a closely held product development company focused on mobile payments and mobile Point of Sale. We first developed a credit card reader and a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) payment application that worked with Nextel's popular push to talk phones, then we built a J2ME mobile payment application tied to a third party bluetooth cardreader/printer for Nokia's first smartphone. We were part of the first wave of Mobile Payments solutions certified for sale by First Data. We also built a prototype J2ME-based smartphone (Symbian OS) POS system with a Cloud backend with support for various bluetooth peripherals. Finally, we developed a Triple DES compliant handheld bluetooth pin pad.

We designed and manufactured the first mainstream all-in-one touchscreen computer for the point of sale industry. We focused on the restaurant segment and built a global network of resellers and direct sales operations. We reached a highly profitable $100M revenue run-rate within four years of the founding, acquiring six complimentary businesses along the way. After our IPO in 1996, we moved from the Nasdaq Small Cap market to a full Nasdaq listing. We had two successful follow on public stock offerings, raising over $40M in total. Javelin was ranked by Deloitte as Orange County, CA's fastest growing technology company from 1995-2000.

Cape Town, South Africa

I moved to Cape Town, South Africa and started a Company affiliated with a Johannesburg technology distributor. We grew the group to become the 2nd largest and most profitable importer and distributor of PC components and locally assembled personal computers (branded Fujitech) in South Africa. I sold the business to the Joburg group in 1994, stayed on for another year, then returned to California.
