As a Research Engineer and Data Scientist in Audiology, I contributed to driving innovation by developing advanced concepts to improve the sound quality, hearing performance, and wearing comfort of hearing instruments, leveraging big data analytics to deliver impactful solutions. My role involved collaborating closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders, including marketing, signal processing, software engineering, and exploration teams, to ensure the successful development of audiological advancements.In my additional capacity as an Agile Coach, I supported a team of engineers and researchers at Sonova’s R&D headquarters. I was responsible for implementing and optimizing agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban to enhance team efficiency and improve cross-team collaboration. During my postdoctoral tenure at ETH Zurich, I focused on advancing and inventing cutting-edge medical imaging technologies, particularly in the field of ultrasound imaging. My research spanned applications such as cancer diagnosis, tissue biomechanical characterization, and neuroimaging, contributing to significant advancements in these domains.I developed innovative signal and image processing methods, along with novel data acquisition schemes, supported by advanced data analytics for performance evaluation. My contributions were recognized with the prestigious MICCAI 2019 Best Presentation Award, one of the largest global technical conferences on medical image analysis, with 1,730 paper submissions.As part of my postdoctoral work, I managed the ‘Next Generation Breast Cancer Diagnosis’ project, a research-to-industry transfer initiative funded by Innosuisse – Swiss Innovation Agency. This project aimed to develop a prototype technology leveraging in-house ultrasound research for enhanced breast cancer diagnosis and quantitative tumor differentiation. The core innovation involved ultrasound speed-of-sound imaging, translating groundbreaking research into practical medical applications.Additionally, I mentored PhD candidates and Master’s students and assisted in teaching courses such as Ultrasound Fundamentals, Imaging, and Medical Applications. These responsibilities enabled me to combine technical expertise with leadership and educational skills, further enriching my professional contributions.
