Head of Research & Development (R & D), 2005-2011Head of Capacity Management (CM), 2008-2011Responsible for about 20 employees and an annual budget of around 150 million SEK. R&D within the TDC includes responsibility network design, supplier selection, methodology and implementation of products/services. CM is responsible for capacity planning of the operator network, both technically and economically. Follow-up on utilization rates and trends, investment analysis, contractor's liability and the calculation of production costs. Richard has during the time at TDC been commissioned to restructure and streamline both R&D and CM operations. This meant, for instance: • change of culture and work methodology in order to integrate the local units in the corresponding Nordic corporate functions.• introduction of process-oriented approach • improved financial and operational control with the help of new methodologies and new schemes including investment calculation. • clear definition of roles and responsibilities for the unit and at individual level. • harmonization of the networks in the Nordics. In 2010, Richard worked directly for TDC's top management with the responsibility to enhance the total customer perceived quality of TDC's mobile service. This involved problem analysis, development and implementation of programs covering all company activities.

Eg established a specialized function for technical sales support.2004-2005 Richard led the work on calculating the costs of the transition between analog TV and digital TV in Sweden and the costs of dismantling and scrapping of the analogue TV network. He also led the work on the planning of the digital TV conversion project which was conducted 2005-2008 on behalf of Parliament. He also took part in in establishing the means and structures for the calculation of production costs and product calculations.
