• Lead, direct and perform program planning activities, including designing and developing statistical programs for EIA, and developing program policy options and strategic and long-range program management plans
• Direct studies, projects and activities carried out under contract, develop recommendations for specific goals, strategies, programs, and activities to improve programs
• Analyze new and changed laws and regulations for effects on the programs managed.
• Serve on inter-agency professional panels and work groups to coordinate with representatives of other federal statistical agencies to address common needs and compare program approaches.
• Oversee the processing and review of all statistical packages from the U.S. Department of Energy to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
• Lead the development of electronic data collection systems designed to collect establishment data from entities in the energy industry.

• Direct research activities of the organization and manage a staff of 16-19 employees staffed in an operational research area, a grants area, and an applied research group
• Build partnerships with other educational organizations and identify research activities that satisfied the common goals of the organizations
• Administer and use a Windows 2003 Server running SAS 9.2 (SAS/STAT, SAS/BI, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS/GRAPH) that supports 5 users and holds more than 2 terabytes of national educational data representing more than 90.
• Design research projects and national research initiatives that result in the advancement of national benchmarks and research services for the education industry
• Write grants and gain funding for new products and research ideas (grants supported from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Lumina Foundation)
• Attend industry conferences and present research findings and provide instructional workshops on research practices for education

• Create models estimating prospective student, applicant, and enrolled student behaviors and advise the executive leadership of the university.
• Conduct risk and cost analysis on financial aid consumption of undergraduates and provide estimates to budget and planning office for use in university models.
• Create statistical models for the admissions and financial aid offices to assist with enrollment management and budgetary processes
• Develop and implement a local data system for research that facilitates research conducted using SAS V8 (SAS/STAT, SAS/Enterprise Miner, SAS/Graph, SPSS, Answer Tree, Statistica, R, Minitab, and Stata)
• Responsible for external and internal financial aid reporting
• Work with an inter-departmental team to design, review, and test new Oracle data warehouses for admissions, financial aid, and student records

• Directly responsible for the overall activities and day-to-day operations of an office serving the decision support, data management, and policy analysis of the University’s Dean of Enrollment
• Supervise a professional staff member and 2 student employees
• Design and administer the undergraduate survey research program for the Homewood campus and provide support to other departments needing survey research expertise (includes instrument design, administration, sampling.
• Provide enrollment management support for the undergraduate admissions and financial aid processes
• Maintain a Microsoft SQL Server used as a data warehouse and website backend
• Manage a server running lotus Domino 4.6 for web applications including online surveys and the admissions website
