I am currently working as a Life and Identity Services Officer at Te Tari Taiwhenua - The Department of Internal Affairs in Christchurch, New Zealand.I graduated in August of 2023 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) majoring in Management at the University of Otago.I completed my Professional Legal Studies Course at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS) and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in Christchurch in June 2024.I was a Summer Policy Intern in 2022/23 at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), working in the International Security and Disarmament Division.I was a Summer Policy Intern in 2021/2022 at the Commerce Commission as part of the Tupu Tai Pasifika Public Sector Summer Internship Programme.I was a volunteer for Community Law Otago as a part of their legal advice clinics in 2022.I was the Advocacy Rep for PILO Otago on the 2022 Student Executive.I received a University of Otago Pacific Peoples’ Entrance Scholarship endorsed with Distinction (2019/2020).I was a competitive swimmer for Neptune Swim Club in Dunedin, competing in Regional and National level competitions, excelling in this sport throughout my life. I am still swimming socially and competing when I have the opportunity.I am looking for opportunities to begin my legal career. I have excellent time management skills, I am a high achiever, and I enjoy and am used to performing in a high-pressure environment. I am a quick learner, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and enjoy working with new people. I have an excellent understanding of the law and the public sector, with a passion for uplifting Māori and Pasifika voices.I hope to carve out a career in the public service or legal sector.
