Insurance Engineering Services, LLC, brings a unique combination of insurance expertise and engineering knowledge to an expanding and complex high tech marketplace. Clients are both insured’s and insurance companies. The brokerage firm is focused on commercial risks with an emphasis on renewable engery and high tech companies. New products and companies often struggle to gain market acceptance and traction. This is especially so when the product is complex and/or requires extended service and support. What happens if the company manufacturing or selling the product goes out of business? Will the product be reliable? Will the product perform as promised? Insurance Engineering Solutions (IES) works with manufacturers and distributors, and insurance companies to develop insurance solutions that address these concerns. The solution can be a warranty, system performance insurance, availability insurance, or other custom coverage. The end result is a financial guarantee that gives the buyer the confidence to purchase the new product or service.

The Mission of Ashford's Economic Development Commission is to help with, and encourage the growth of existing businesses while seeking the development of new business, which will be compatible with the philosophy of our rural community. The purpose of these goals is to expand our tax base in a positive manner and to enable local government to provide goods and services sought by the town and its citizens.

The PZC has statutory responsibility to regulate commercial, industrial, residential and other forms of land use activity. The PZC exercises controls over land use by dividing the town’s land into various residential, commercial and recreational zones and regulating, through Zoning and Subdivision Regulations, the nature of uses, structures and site improvements that may take place.

Redesigned, re-underwrote, and managed the warranty program business, and expanded in-house admitted agency to market the products direct to clients. Expanded warranty program to include emerging technology and renewable energy; and formed an alliance with a major wholesale broker for this line of business. Developed the first stand alone warranty product for wind turbines.

Internal consultant to AIG Claims responding to an increase in frequency, severity, and complexity of mold claims across all domestic business units. Identified corporate need for mold claims technical and coverage support; and formed (jointly with AIG Consultants) the Specialty Claims Assistance Network (SCAN). Personally managed over 100 large, complex, and/or publicly sensitive claims.

Proposed the formation of new product development group shortly after HSB was acquired by AIG. This group worked closely with AIG Corporate Product Development to conceive and develop new insurance products for HSB and AIG.

Lead a team of business unit leaders in the development of a near term strategic plan focused on developing high margin business combining engineering with insurance. Identified the need for a technical and financial “partner” for long term company viability. Working with others in Senior Management and an investment bank prepared the Engineering portion of the HSB due diligence package. Represented Engineering in due diligence negotiations with multiple companies. HSB was acquired by AIG 3Q2000.

Management responsibility for all home office engineering, systems, and finance. Initiated and implemented numerous new systems and business processes.

Promoted from individual technical contributor to line manager to internal consultant reporting to the Chief Technology Officer of UTC. Technical expertise spanning aerospace, building systems, service support systems, manufacturing, and nondestructive examination. Conducted reseacrh and special projects for most all of the UTC operating units. Some notable examples include: Developed elevator service business and technology strategy centered around REM (Remote Elevator Monitoring) for all of Otis’ world-wide Operations (Europe, Pacific-Asia, North America, and Latin America). Secured approval for development and capital appropriation funding ($500M over 5 years) for deployment of REM on all elevators world-wide (approximately 1,000,000 units). Successfully implemented REM and re-engineered service processes resulting in 25% reduction in system failures; 20% reduction in service delivery costs; and substantial improvement in customer satisfaction. Organized and managed UTC team that developed and implemented new NDE technology and systems to re-certify the Titan III solid rocket motor (SRM) after a major launch failure. The scope of this program was substantial; involving 300+ engineers, technicians, and contractors at multiple UTC and government facilities across the USA. The recertified Titan III was successfully launched with a strategically vital DOD payload from Vandenberg AFB in just 13 months after the catastrophic failure.
