Incredibly rewarding 5.5 years at The Clearway Group including completion of 8 acquisitions, refinancing for growth and Exit of business to new PE Investors. Achieved substantial organic and acquisition growth over that period and developed group to become a pan-European, tech-enabled leader in the sector.

MWR is a £200m+ PE backed multi-site recycling business. Initially owned by Equistone PE I led the sale process of the business to Bain Capital Credit. Subsequently I successfully raised a £36m ABL with Bank of America, replaced the company's fleet of vehicles with 50 new lorries (including telematics and tracking) and transformed the transport team management, implemented extensive cost saving programme, and worked with the production and commercial teams to optimise processing capacity and grow volumes. Delivered substantial business change and performance improvement supporting CEO to drive business forward. Built highly effective and respected finance team. Led the successful exit for Bain Capital Credit through trade sale including liaison with corp finance advisors, IM, VDD, presentations and negotiations with bidders, legals.

£100m t/o Aim Listed manufacturer or holographic films and packaging materials. International business with operations in the UK, Europe, USA and China. I joined this business to support the new CEO to turnaround the business that had been underperforming. First was to implement rigorous cash management procedures to restore confidence of banks and to refinance the debt. Built strong finance team. Published Annual Report, prelim announcements and investor/analyst presentations. Recruited CFO to replace myself when I headed back south.

Responsible for global finance and IT teams (10+ direct reports, 100+ indirect) in 45 businesses in 11 countries- built highly respected finance and IT teams operating to the highest standards. Responsible for European treasury and Chairman of 2 pension trustee boards.Completed substantial acquisition programme, doubling business in size in 2 years. Completed substantial rationalisation and cost saving programme.Led significant Sarbanes Oxley compliance programme. Audit Committee Meeting attendance.Chairman of 2 DB pension funds- restored funding to 93% from 60%.

FTSE Listed £200m packaging group. Multi-site, international business. I joined the business just after IPO and developed a listed company identity with investors - annual reports, prelim announcements, analyst and press briefings. We were shortlisted for numerours awards and won the 1995 Investor Relations Award. I implemented a new group wide reporting package, reported on business performance and capital investment appraisals, and was responsible for group treasury management. During the period the group completed 7 acquisitions and I was responsible for post-acqusition intergration of the businesses.

Just-in-time manufacturer of pharmaceutical packaging. Integrated this newly acquired family business into group reporting. Monitored investment spend and performance as factory was doubled in size. Implemented process costing system.

Part of Reed International Plc until MBO of Reedpack in 1987. Manufacturer of printed cartons for the spirits and confectionery markets. One of the favorite times of my career, the business was a world class producer of high end packaging. The business ran a complex process costing system for stock valuation and product costing. Running Total Quality Management programmes I was trained in team leader and facilitator roles. In the morning I could be leading a sales and production group assessing job variances and agreeing standards, and in the afternoon in the print room evaluating savings of a potential £2m press investment.

Joined as trainee and followed a structured training programme whilst studying day release for ACCA. Mainly working on the consolidation team for consolidating the Crompton Parkinson group results and reporting to Hawker Siddeley Head Office.
