Dick Gordon, a partner in Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Boston office, practiced law for several years before co-founding Bickerton & Gordon in 1989. Bickerton & Gordon merged with MLA in late 2004 at which time Dick became a partner in MLA’s Boston office. Early in his legal career he practiced real estate and corporate law at Parker, Coulter, Daley & White and later joined Wayne, Lazares & Chappell, where he became a corporate and real estate partner. Before entering law practice in the mid-1980's, Dick was a commerical loan officer with the former Bank of New England. He is also a former secondary school English teacher and coach, having taught at two top Connecticut secondary schools in the late l970's. Immediately after graduating from Middlebury College in l975, Dick was a newspaper reporter for a top Vermont weekly. He was on the varsity golf and hockey teams at Middlebury.Dick has written several articles and has been a regular participant in various legal recruitment seminars. His practice focuses on Partner, Associate and In-house/General Counsel placements. His in-house practice has encompassed staff attorney and General Counsel searches for emerging and well-established public and private companies covering a range of industries including but not limited to high tech, bio-tech, manufacturing, energy, financial services and healthcare. With respect to partner work, he works with both individual partners and partner groups in assessing new opportunities. Additionally, he works with local and out-of-state firms hoping to grow their Boston and New England offices.
