My practice includes advising employers to help them navigate an increasingly complex universe of employment laws and regulations to help minimize their exposure to risk. I have worked with a wide range of entities on subjects such as wage and hour compliance, navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, antidiscrimination laws at both the federal and state level, employment contracts, restrictive covenants and noncompetition agreements, Paid Family and Medical Leave and the Massachusetts Sick Leave law, and other employment-related issues. I also help guide employers through difficult employee problems, train management to be prepared and respond appropriately when problems do arise, and craft employer policies to enable them to minimize issues in the future.A large part of my practice is litigation, where I have successfully represented businesses and employers in state, federal, and administrative proceedings and defended those victories on appeal. I focus my litigation practice on defending employers from single plaintiff and class action wage and hour matters, employment discrimination cases, and in litigating noncompetition and commercial disputes between businesses. I am particularly passionate about helping his clients avoid the significant penalties that accompany failure to comply with wage and hour laws, and I frequently write and present on that subject.My previous experience includes additional work in both plaintiff- and defense-side employment, intellectual property, and commercial litigation, as well as construction cases, and defending malpractice claims brought against attorneys and professional clients in different legal contexts.
