I am and Associate Professor and Course Leader for MA Fashion at Kingston University. The title of my PhD research is- Material INTO Practice, Practice ONTO Body and OUT TO Space; Exploration of sequins as a spatial concept through a new embellishment technique. Between 2006-2011, I designed my eponymous ready-to-wear womenswear label, selling in the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East. Celebrity clients included Courtney Love, Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, Kate Beckinsale, Florence Welch, Kelis, Sienna Miller, Miley Cyrus, Diamanda Galas, and Heidi Klum. My work has been exhibited in various exhibitions worldwide and I have been commissioned to produce work by Swarovski, the Victoria and Albert Museum and Andaz Hotel. I have collaborated with Meadham Kirchhoff (Autumn/Winter 2009), Manolo Blahnik (for Meadham Kirchhoff), The Convenience Store, and ASOS. In 2006 I co-author of The Fundamentals of Fashion for AVA Books (3rd edition Bloomsbury 2017) which has been translated into six plus languages and has sold sixteen thousand plus copies worldwide, and in 2016 I co-authored the book Research and Design for Fashion (Basics Fashion Design) also for Bloomsbury. And my work has featured in magazines and newspapers including Vogue UK, American Vogue, OK! Magazine, Grazia, i-D Magazine, The Sunday Times Style Magazine, The Independent, The Times, LA TIMES, Dazed Digital, Observer Magazine.
