About Richard Sperling

I have been helping clients succeed since 1981.I advise executives and management on work and organization; design jobs, job families, and organizations to support achievement of global business strategy; provide expert consulting services in defining and communicating roles and role relationships; and help clients understand, plan, and manage spans of control.I work with clients to identify effective total reward strategies and turn those strategies into reality. I help clients build the foundations for integrated performance management; career pathing; management development; succession planning; and reward strategies, architecture, and programs. I have designed leading-edge approaches to analyzing, understanding, designing and valuing work in clients' increasingly complex and varied organizational settings. I am perhaps best known as an expert in work comparison and valuing. My current consulting focuses primarily on large global industrial companies; I also have worked extensively with a wide range of clients, including not-for-profit, public sector, financial, religious, and education organizations.
