About Richard Stokoe
PR Week described me as having a 'straight-talking reputation' - but whether that is true is up to others to decide. I spent years in the political, PR and communications industries. I love it when people appreciate the real power and value of good communications to both staff and the people the organisation should serve. However, a few years back I called it a day to broaden my horizons. I studied a Masters in Disaster Management for Environmental Hazards, got the best marks of the cohort and got my dissertation published in an international peer reviewed journal. Since then I have done some leadership, management and PR consultancy for a couple of political outfits and now lecture part time on strategic leadership, communications and disasters at the University of South Wales. Since Covid kicked off I have been penning articles and opinion pieces for the likes of the Inde, HuffPo and trade magazines that look at some of the disaster and PR related facets of how this crisis has been handled.
Listed skills include Strategic Communications, Crisis Communications, Media Relations, Public Relations, and 27 others.
