During my time at Cheshire Constabulary I also acted as the Northern GI User Group Chair representing all police forces in the north west at the National ACPO GI Board.I coordinated and ran a CCTV Mapping project across the force and assisted most forces across the country in doing the same thing. I received a Chief Constables Commendation for this work and also produced a research paper on the amount of CCTV in the county using GIS to analyse the data I had collected in Cheshire.In my last year at Cheshire I project managed the implementation of a corporate gazetteer and worked with various departments and external companies to get this off the ground.Within Cheshire I became the GIS / Gazetteer expert assisting departments across the organisation and was regularly called upon to assist with Major incidents.During my time the use of GIS grew significantly across the organisation with over 600 regular users across the force and I assisted these departments in seeing where GIS really could benefit their role.
