Richard van der Linden is Tax partner at PwC in the Amsterdam Real Estate group dedicated to provide tax services to global investors and asset managers investing and divesting in real estate. His practice consists of tax optimization of corporate structures including internal or external refinancing, advice in respect of mergers and acquisitions and assisting clients setting up or investing in regional, country or property-specific real estate investment funds, JVs and separate accounts as well as finance organization transformation and compliance set up. Areas of expertise include international corporate income tax and real estate transfer tax.Prior to joining PwC, Richard functioned for close to 12 years as VP Tax Europe at Prologis responsible for European tax accounting, tax compliance and taxes in relation to real estate acquisitions, dispositions and fund structuring. During this period Richard gained significant experience in EU tax law issues, treaty applications, Transfer Pricing and digitalization of the tax finance function while being instrumental to the growth of AUM north of €15bn.Richard is teacher at the Amsterdam School of RE and the INREV / Henley business school program as well as Chairman of the INREV Tax Committee. Richard holds a master (LL.M) in Tax law from the University van Amsterdam, a TopMaster European Fiscal Studies (EFS) from Erasmus University Rotterdam and followed several courses including the PwC – Nyenrode University Tax business program and the INSEAD Leading for IMPACT program.
